is it possible for a company or a shop to get people to do house calls to help me get the ps3 online as i have no idea what i need to do or buy can anyone help me buy telling me what shops do that if at all

Don't pay someone to do it its easy (really).

You must have broadband.

If not, you need a router. This will take the place of your modem. You just put you broadband log in details and it works .
Give your router a name and a password. The PS3 has a option on the menu to search for connections and it will show up your routers name on the list, select it and it will ask for the password. Enter that and off you go.
