Hmm, I think that ipods only allows themselves to be registered to one library at a time. I suggest using the ipod to copy your music from your old computer, to the new one. To do this you want to make sure that ipodhelper.exe is not running on your computer when you plug the ipod in. If this is the case, you can simply access the ipod as a hard disk from win explorer. Not sure whether this answers your question. It's just I tried plugging my ipod into another computer once and didnt' have much luck. Oh, the songs are hidden on the ipod by the way.
Being a user of Apple computers I do not understand the problem. Can you not connect your PC to your Laptop and then import the songs form one to the other? Alternatively you can get some freeware that will allow you to download songs from your iPod to your computer, I only know of the ones that work on Macs (eg iPod2Mac).
