I have never tasted tripe - it's not really eaten that much here but I do remember my dad cooking tripe for his working dogs. He had an old gas cooker in one of the outhouses and used to buy the stuff in bulk from a butcher he knew and it was greeeeeeeeeeen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh!Ugh!Ugh! So I would never eat the stuff not even if you paid me though some think it's lovely.
I keep wanting to try it, but I haven't plucked up enough courage yet.

PS The dogs loved it though and their coats were gorgeous so it must be good for you.
Tried it (as an adult) did'nt like it, the Poles call it flaki and seem to really enjoy it.
sorry, I'm a Londoner.. what IS tripe?

I've heard of it but I really don't know! (it sounds gross)
Oh no, Sassy. You had to ask ...

waits ...

Blergh! No thanks. Got home tonight and my Mum had cooked some kidney up for my dog as a treat; I almost had to walk back out of the house!

So no, offal IS awful, and I am not a fan. x
Jayne any Polish shop (and several supermarkets) sell it ready cooked in jars with sauce etc.
Go on!
Give it a go!
I'm sure you've had worse things in ya mouth!
what is it?????????????????!!
I'm afraid to say it Sara but tripe is the lining of a cow's stomach
Yep. Choice.

Cows spend their lives eating and digesting veggie stuff, and making gas, and then ... you can buy their stomach linings.

Mmmmmmmmm.
My mum ate tripe often, she loved it. I remember she would have a plate full of tripe (nothing else) and put vinegar on it. Eukkkk no wonder I'm vegetarian.http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/843/ 855976.JPG
