Not festive fayre I know. Has anyone made this soup using preserved kaffir lime leave (from a jar). I desperately want to make this soup but can't find fresh kaffir lime leaves anywhere.

I am sure I have seen them in Tesco, try looking in the herbs and spices section, if not there try where the thai or chinese cooking sauces are.

Many thanks, I was sure I read somewhere that UK would not let the fresh leaves in for some reason. I will try the big Tesco in the next town.
If not, you can use dry lime leaves.... just as good as the fresh when added to the soup.

Plus, you can simply buy the Tom Yam paste in any oriental supermarket and not need to add anything at all except water.
