Oh bednobs, I tried it once and never again!! I made a bologneise with it!! I even preferred the bologneise I made with Quorn and that was dire. Even the look of turkey mince turns me off now. Sorry, not being helpful at all!!

Give it to the cat!!
Redhelen I put so many herbs and such a lot of garlic and onions, etc. into my bologneise and I still could taste it!! Doesn't say much for the taste if you have to mask it!!! ;o)
And living not far from Bernard Matthews I have heard too many tales about turkey mince.

I am going. Poor bednobs. Sorry :o(
make good burgers !!
If I`m going to use mince I always buy turkey mince. I make turkey mince lasagne, chilli and do my own turkey burgers with it.

I don't think you CAN make tea with it. :-))

Personally, I wouldn't use it as mince, I'd mash it to a paste and make meatballs, then I'd build a trebuchet.
meat loaf with bacon..

finely chop medium onion, and two cloves of garlic add to turkey mince and mix well add tablespoon of tomato puree salt and pepper and half a teaspoon of herbes de provence or bouquet garni add an egg and mix really well line a loaf tin with smoked streaky bacon and fill with the turky mixture put more bacon on top and cover with foil roast slowly for approx 1 hr 40 mins medium oven nice with chopped red/green pepper and chopped chili too
Meatballs? You could always breadcrumb them with a lot of seasoning if it needs more taste.
LOL LOL at Naz!!!
you in Lenwade Lofty ? nearly bought a house in G Witchingham near an animal park of some kind !
Red Helen. You can use it the same way as you would beef mince - I would agree but it tastes just horrible to me!!
No not that near Murraymints - about 15 miles away, nearer the North Norfolk coast. I come from London originally, but have been up here for 31 years now. I know where you mean though.
lived in Norwich for 7 years Lofty...we were neighbours all that time !
Well we are about 25 miles or so from Norwich now. Visit quite frequently though. Was there on Saturday night. Love Norwich - best city in the UK in my opinion. (Sorry bednobs for chatting on your thread).
Turkey mince?? yyeeeuucchhhh!!

I tend to use lean pork mince...it seems to taste better.
There are lots of recipes for turkey mince on the BBC Good Food website. They are mostly meatball recipes with different flavourings, e.g thai, mediterranean etc.

I have to say I'm with the others though, turkey mince is not a favourite of mine, dry and consequently tasteless.
Pasta, I tried it because we have to cut down on red meat (of which pork is one!!) I like pork mince too. However, I would rather turn vegetarian than ever have to eat turkey mince again. I use beef/pork mince but not as often as I used too.
Lottie...I've developed a real love for Quorn mince recently-I used to hate it. But I find if I really season it well,I now prefer it over 'real' mince.
