and its not a good smell ;(

O/H decided in his wisdom on Friday at the Fishmongers that he would have cod roe as he hadnt had it for years -looked disgusting.....

Just had a taste and its the fishiest fish thing i have ever had the displeasure of tasting -its awful and now I cant gt rid of the taste or the smell:(

Bet someone likes it though -do you?

I think you can get creams for that, see your GP.
There are three things that smell like fish, one of them is ...fish :-)
the canned kind is easier to deal with, you can eat it cold or turn it out, slice it and dust it with seasoned flour and fry
I absolutely love hard roe but hate soft roe with a passion; it makes me heave. I won't tell you what I think it smells of because it would be censored (lol) but I'm sure you know what I mean.

It was the hard stuff cut from what looked like guts and he fried it and made me taste it and I was almost sick-yet I love fish.
It had the texture of sand and the taste was overpowering -meant to be the equivelent of caviar -what does that taste like then??
At least you tried it Dris; so many people say they don't like things but what they mean is that they refuse to try it. Well done.

I think it must be an old fashioned delicacy -it was bl00dy expensive for 2 slices tho.
My wee neighbour fries it and puts it on a roll -she's in her element-bless -she's 86.
