I have just tried my first one of these, mashed with a knob of butter, absolutely gorgeous, if you have never tried it...give it a go .

Hate it....

I also had it mashed with butter but couldn't eat it...
Delia Smith has a recipe for a wonderful root vegetable soup that uses celeriac.

One of our favourites.

ive never fancied it,,,,,,,,,,,,,does it taste like potatoes ?
No it taste like celery...
The leaves taste like celery but the bit you cook doesn't particularly. Try it.
Oh I think it did, although a bit milder.
I tried growing it when I had an allotment. It is a very ugly vegetable with roots all over it. You have to cut most of it away before you get to the bit you can eat. Didn't bother again - wasn't worth it- might as well buy celery and cook that.
It is a lot more filling and substantial than celery. It has about as much waste as a swede.
It actually looks more like a swede as well.

I love swede :-)
I like it raw in salads, it has a very refreshing taste.
I like it...but never see it anywhere.
