I recently had cleeriac mash at a friends house and it was delicious, but I have just looked up a recipe and it appears that basically it is just celeriac mashed up. I thought the one I had at my friends also contained some mashed potatoes as well, unfortunately I cant find this out as her boyfriend made it and he is now her ex. Anyone any ideas if you can make it say half'n'half with potatoes.

Thanks

I would say yes, half & half is fine- in fact it is probably better than just all mashed celeriac as it has quite a strong flavour on its own. Hope you enjoy, however you decide you make it!
Yeah, you can make it half-and-half with potatoes, but it will ose some of it's flavour. I always cook it in milk too, rather than water, and let it simmer gently until it's tender enough to mash. Then add loadsa butter....mmmmm!
Hi War - I found this on the internet for you:

Celeriac Mash

2 celeriac, peeled and cut
2 potatoes, peeled and cut
1 onion, diced into large pieces and
divided in half
2 tablespoons butter

In a small sauce pot place celeriac, add water to cover. In separate pot place potato with water to cover. Place half the onion in each pot and simmer until each is fork tender. Strain liquid and place all ingredients, including butter, in a food processor or blender. Puree until mash has a smooth consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Metric:
2.00 celeriac, peeled and cut
2.00 potatoes, peeled and cut
1.00 onion, diced into large pieces and
divided in half
29.58 ml butter
