I've just been invited to a friend of mine's wedding (and it's going to be quite a "do" - they are spending a lot of money on it) and on the invitation the couple say that they are " encouraging the guests to dress up and be glamorous " - I would think from that message that either long dresses or short dresses are equally suitable, what do other ABers think?

play safe with a really glitzy cocktail dress and fascinator, long gloves too or diamante cuffs find a colour that really suits you rather than something safe...
i would probably ask the friend rather than just guess
cheeky gits like people dont dress up glam for weddings. I'd go for long dress but only coz theres some lovely maxi dresses out there at moment and I have to cover my cankles
You can't go wrong with an LBD and killer heels.

For me, glamour would mean a long dress.
