Hi peeps. I love dishes like Lasagne and spaghetti Bolognese but I am allergic to tomatoes. Does anyone know where I can get recipes for these types of dishes that use something other than tomatoes?

You can make a nice lasagne with chicken and brocolli in a white sauce. Also you can make a spaghetti sauce using aubergine and courgette with garlic which is very tasty xx You can add peppers to that or any other veg. there is also a recipe using egg and lemon which you mix and pour over hot pasta, which thickens it. Not sure what that is called though. Enjoy!

What've you got, Mercia?
Well, once you have your basic white sauce (2oz butter and flour, cook strring all the time until smooth, gradually whisk in a pint of milk) You can add various flavourings, like onion, garlic, cheese, parsley or other fresh herbs etc.
Also, you can cook vegetables you like, eg carrots and potatoes until soft, mash and push through a sieve, thin with a little stock or wine and use that as a base for mince for your bolognese or lasagne.
