Do you think Prescott and that Paedophile are somehow similar?
My first reaction to your question, McMouse, is Why? But then, why does anyone get an honorary title? After all, they all get paid (quite handsomely, in some cases) for what they've been doing, so why a peerage for anyone?
Unfortunately, there are too many undeserving people being given these pumped up titles.

They should save them for 'really' honest, hardworking, brave, deserving people.
Much as I dislike John Prescott, I really baulk at you comparing him with Gary Glitter. Not in the least bit edgy, controversial or funny............
if a peerage is getting thrown off a pier with a pair of concrete shoes on, then yes
He did worse than just peer.
Personally I think the question belittles what the victims of paedophiles go through.
How can you compare paedophiles to politicians?
it's a bizarre question.

do you think he deserves a title, McMouse?
relax ab´s its a 1st rate wind - up!!!
Oh, I forgot to mention, although I can't stand John Prescott, I wouldn't put him in the same category as Gary Glitter - ridiculous observation McMouse!.
I rather liked Prescott. He seems to have been the last of a dying breed, working class politicians. All uni and law degrees now.
The question and others might be missing the obvious.

Peerages aren't just awards to the deserving.
The House of Lords is a political institution and has an important role in shaping and passing legislation.

So it is a natural stage in many politicos careers and there is an agreement between the main parties to ensure balanced population of peers from each.

.
Ah, but I didn't say 'peerages' I said 'pumped up titles', of which some do not deserve.
no....simple really. he's pond life x
smudge

can you give an example of a 'pumped up title' given to someone that isn't a peerage?
an elected upper house may well have less of the "undeserved" in it
I was being pedantic Zeuhl. ;o}
