starters: Warm pitta breads with three dips, spicy tomato, hummous and sour cream and onion

Traditional Prawn cocktail, large shelled prawns in a Marie Rose sauce on an bed on mixed leaves

Spinach and ricotta cheese ravioli

Mains: Pork steaks in a sticky BBQ sauce served with jacket wedges and salad
OR
Jumbo fillet of fresh cod, I'll deep fry it in a crispy beer-batter, with handcut chips and garden/mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce
OR
Best minced steak and mushroom Lasagne, minced steak with onions and mushrooms in a rich thick home grown roasted tomato sauce with fresh oregano and basil, garlic and red wine, layered with fresh pasta and a creamy bechamel sauce topped with three cheeses baked until golden, served with a side salad and garlic bread

Puds: Poached pears with homemade Vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

Lemony raspberry cheesecake
OR
Trio of sorbets: gooseberry and lemonbalm, mango and blackcurrant (all homemade)

14 cheeses, crackers grapes and celery

I personally get tin, open with tin opener, pour into plastic container, put in miocrowave, wait until DING then serve.

Well, there is that way I suppose!! - It's just I'm a cook, and I love to make things from scratch
Do you not have a lot of food left over each day ? Or do a number of you dine at the same time.Love the recipes-- am sending a doggy bag , for me .!!!!!!!

I don't have leftovers as such, I have two elderly neighbours I look after who always welcome anything I have left on rare occasions!! But I bake practically every day and take them something, some biscuits or cookies, a slice of cake or a couple of scones or muffins, a Cornish Pasty, or piece of steak/chicken pie etc, and they both come to lunch on sundays

I haven't worked this year, it was last year i worked, for myself and they 'overcharged me' - I haven't worked full time since my accident 5 years ago
I keep reading these menus and never commented but it all sound so lovely all the time feel compelled to ask- Mercia, is Mercia radio station local to you? If yes can I come and eat at yours all the time?

I live in Birmingham, Merciasounds is a name I 'inherited' along with the laptop from my nephew who is a third year med student, he wanted a bigger laptop, so we swapped!! and thanks, I'm so glad you like the menus!!
