We always used to eat this when in Glasgow. My Mum is from there so we always used to go back there on holiday. Here in England I cant seem to get it ANYWHERE, and we all would love to get hold of some. I live in Staffordshire so does anyone know of anywhere I can get some? My Mum would love it,as would I.

Mothers Pride was popular here in the 1970's and 80's but I don't remember seeing it around nowadays. I used to love Tiger bread. I think perhaps the bakery moved to Scotland and so we lost that particular brand.
Gran, we used to love Tiger bread too, it was the first sliced bread that came with a twisty thing on the bag. whitby babe, I've not seen Mothers Pride bread for a while. You can get Scottish plain bread in Farm Foods if you have one near you, they do the square sausage and a good black pudding too.
We get loads of Mother's Pride stuff over here (in NI) - come for a visit and bring loads back :-)
As bakeries grow and expand the brand names change. The two I remember from my early days are Sunblest and Wonderloaf, neither of which you see today. In the early 70s there was a popular TV advert for Wonderloaf with the slogan, "Nice one, Cyril", based on a Chelsea FC song.
