when I cooked some nice frozen red cherries for a pie they turned out an unpleasant brownish colour, does anyone know what I can do to prevent this in future, they tasted ok.

add some lemon juicem, should do the trick
Don't have lemon juice? Use a finely powdered Vitamin C tablet or two... works great!

thanks for that, should have thought of lemon as it works for apples, never would have thought of vitamin C tabs tho.
