Try this:

:-)
Wash your rice, then put it into a saucepan cover with milk then add the same amount of milk again, add grated nutmeg and sultanas if you wish. (this allows you to make as much, or as little as you wish) Bring to the boil stiring to prevent the rice sticking. turn the heat down to simmer and cover, stirring occasionally. After about 20 minutes the milk will have been absorbed, add cream if you wish, allow the cream to warm through and it is ready to serve.
A firm favourite in our house.
Enjoy!
I loved school rice pudding....with a thick baked skin - yums!
The BBC recipe is good, I always add a few knobs of butter to the dish as well and use loads of nutmeg - gives a lovely thick skin

I hate rice pudding! Reminds me of school dinners - along with blancmange, lumpy mash, liver with tubes....
i like my pud sweet and creamy! I put three handfuls pudding rice in pyrex dish and add two tablespoons sugar. Pour in about pint and half milk, mix and grate fresh nutmeg on top (plenty!).
Put in oven on a tray, about 160 for one and a half to two hours, once everything in dish is not liquid at all. . Once out of oven, leave to stand for 15 mins then break skin and pour in half tub double elmlea cream and pull skin back. Let cream seep through and then eat! yum!!

I hate rice pudding, in fact I hate all milk puddings. Used to have them as a child and eat them, but never liked them. Not as bad as egg custards I suppose ;o)
Rice pudding nice & simple, blob of jam in the middle, stir it in, watch it go pink! simples!
That's even worse!! I don't like jam!

lol!
I have never made a rice pudding, because Mr LL and Master LL don't like it either. I bought a Muller Rice once by mistake thinking it was yoghurt. I had to throw it away.
