My daughter has been provided, by the local council, with an ugly brown waste food caddy for her kitchen. She's seen some that are like an apple or tomato but can't find them now she needs one. Does anyone know when we could buy one please. TIA.

But if you buy something else how will the council know to collect it? Isnt the whole point so that they can see by the colour what is what. We have blue for paper, white for plastic, green for food waste etc.

lakeland do an apple one

grasscarp, the bin is a kitchen one, think you may have got confused with wheelie bin :)
The poster said it was provided by the council so I assumed it was part of the collection scheme. Is it masma?
Some councils give households a large bin for kitchen waste, which they collect regularly AND they give them a smaller bin that sits on the kitchen worktop to be emptied every day or two in to the larger bin.
masma is referring to the small bin.

Thank you all, the apple one sounds just perfect. Just to clarify - sorry if I didn't make myself clear - the council have given her a small ish brown caddy for food waste which she has to empty into a larger wheelie bin, this is then collected weekly (Ithink). She doesn't have much floor space in her kitchen so would like to buy one that looks more atractive and would sit on the worktop.
Thank you again for your replies x
