Rub some fairy liquid neat onto the stain (quite a lot of it) and leave it for an hour or 2, then put it through an ordinary wash.

Let me know if this works!

Dont know if this will work being you've already washed the item but, cover the stain with a piece of brown paper and then use a warm iron on the paper. the paper should draw the oil out of the material like blotting paper.
halfwit, that really brought back memories. I used to do that &  9/10 it used to work! Bit like candle wax too.
um;;this may be a job for popeye:::(:)
I got some oil on my jeans and washed them quickly but the stain stayed, so I soaked them in Oxyclean (Sains or Tesco) and that did the trick, after they come out of machine stain was completely gone.
