Seems to me you don't like pasta then, hippyhoppy!
If we`re talking pasta itself, & not what one has on/in/with it, then my top 3 are; tortiglioni (small ribbed tubes), sheet lasagne & spaghetti.
I like

spirals
Tubes
Bow ties

DOESN'T IT ALL TASTE THE SAME ?!?!?!
yes it does all taste the same and us english are not that imaginative with food anyhow, there is a difference and preference in texture and home made pasta is certainly nicer than bought pasta and then of course you can have it made with flour and egg or flour and water and if your adventurous have totellini which is pasta stuffed with many different things from veg to meat and of course if you like colour then you can put spinach in for green, tomato (dried I beleive) for red and wait for it.... octopus ink for black and before anyone says that octopus is either poisinous or not nice and rubbery, its not poisinous or I would not be typing this and if cooked low and slow is certainly not rubbery and its very nice with pasta.

technically tagliatelle and all other long pasta are called spaghetti and all short and funny shapped stuff is pasta

AWWW......immy!!!...I just saw this.....thankyou sweetie!

The others ^^^^^^^ haven't a clue.
Mwaaaaaaaah,xxxxxxxxx and ((((HUG)))) to you

PS-I love them all
I love Carbonara, anything which also has cheese and ham or bacon in it, mmmm :) Best one was a seasonal dish at a cafe on the side of Lake Como.

Love spaghetti bolognese and simple pasta with fresh tomato sauce and herbs, had the most gorgeous one in Little Italy in New York, simple but delicious.

I have to say, the proper authentic stuff is so different. I lived with 3 guys from Sardinia for a while and the food they cooked was just amazing and very different to the italian food in restaurants over here.
