Does anyone know the name of a sticky malt loaf of 1970-80's. It was approx. 8 ins. long x 2 ins x 2ins, wrapped in a wax wrapper? We all used to call it sticky bread but I believe it had a trade name. Any help would be very gratefully received.

Thanks Ithappens - this was my son's suggestion but he seems to think this was a later edition.
Soreen has been around for many years. I remember it from the 1970s, and possibly the 1960's. It's delicious.

Many thanks both of you - I suppose it must be Soreen, though I personally do not recall the name at all. As I'm over halfway through my eighties maybe its just senility!
All this hullabaloo because my son in the Isleof Man wanted the answer for a pub quiz - what we do for our children!
i remember eating two slices of this before I went to school one day - probably around 1980 and I ahve never eaten it again as cannot face it!! It was soreen at that time.
My late brother used to love his 'sticky bread'....which was as suggested before....Soreen.

The advert was ...'don't forget the soreen Doreen'
