Why oh why do women fail repeatedly to let other car drivers out at road junctions. I have harbored this notion for some time, but yesterday i am driving to my village with my friend, rush hour, 8 women one after the other pulled into the refuge in front of me to turn right, not one of them let me through. I had to pull across the traffic coming from my right and force them to let me through. Until i had moved out, their path was blocked by people behind me. They never let you out, women, they are either stupid, selfish, or stupidly selfish. It makes me so angry, please everyone look next time you are turning right onto a major road and see whether or not a woman lets you out.

wow, get you!

I'm a woman. I drive. I am considerate to other drivers and aware of the road. hey, I can even park without someone seeing me in.

and the only accident I've been involved in was when a MAN drove into the back of my car (and my kids were in the back), wrote it off and left me with permanent eye damage.

but I don't say, "all male drivers....... "

get over yourself!
Hi topo, bit of a sweeping statement,, my wife is the opposite to that, which annoys me, she will let everybody out , and stop to let others through if cars are parked on the other side of the road, some drivers are very selfish, but it is spread across both sexes.
Well its cos theyre women innit ?

Sara3, i do believe that as you are a participant in a public forum that you have a sociable demeanor, you are probably unlikely to act so selfishly, ergo you are not included in my criticism. Yet I fail to see how by pointing out that you are a considerate driver and that you were sadly involved in an accident caused by a man that that suddenly means that women let you out at junctions, what is your point? Is it to convince me i have imagined this for years?
Incidentally i was bumped from the rear a little while ago, by the man behind me who was pushed by the women behind him, she was putting a necklace on?
But, if you look you will see this happen all the time, it is not just my village, i have seen it everywhere.

Thing is Ray, i now expect them not to let you out, of course not all women do it but it is the majority of them.
Take note next time you are out, i cannot understand it.
some women do, some women dont
some men do, some men dont

what is your point?

I am a safe and considerate female driver so dont tag all women the same, hey maybe its YOU they dont want to let out - you giving off the wrong signals or what?

The only time I dont let someone out into the traffic is if theyre arrogant drivers or posing gits
Question Author
Weaal, first of all i have said it is not all women, unfortunately you have just admitted to possibly a greater sin. How come you refuse to be courteous to someone that you don't know that appears arrogant or a poser to you, is that what is going on.
Thank you Weeal, now it is confirmed you are doing it out of spite, flaunting good manners and the regard for other road users.
my point is... the same as everyone else who has posted here! except the Mighty Legend, but who listens to him ;o)

and it would be true to say I don't wait a mighty long time for a dithering driver, be they male or female.

I think you are suffering from that syndrome whereby, if you're trying for a baby you think everyone is pregnant, when you're unhappily married you think everyone else is deliriously happy, etc etc...

you're only noticing the lousy women drivers because you're not open to the idea that men can be just as bad. open your eyes. wakey wakey!
Calm down, topo! There are bad drivers everywhere and it's not gender specific. I'm female and I'll let people out (and I do appreciate a gesture of thanks), but I haven't in the past when I'm late for somewhere or where it isn't possible (not just being awkward).

I have been in two major accidents, though, that have left me injured and funnily enough there were both caused by men not paying attention. The first was when I was on the M1 and was clipped by a HGV and the second, when a van ploughed into the back of me at 40mph when I was stationary. I wouldn't use my experiences to say that all men are pants drivers, though.

Have a happy Saturday! :))
you know the arrogant type ... nose of the car pushed out into the road with oncoming traffice just PLEADING to be let out instead of waiting their turn

you know the posing type... screeching away from the lights to attract attention, music at 112 db and all the windows down

yeah i dont like them, they are a nuisance on the road but i dont assign a sex to them, theyre just DRIVERS
pmsl @ sara
you got it so right

I have no syndrome, i have observed this as a fact, i wish it didn't happen. I am not spiteful or anti women, i just witness it too often to be imagining it.
Are you American or Canadian?
Did one of yopu sweeet little ladies say something?
Rally you know the back seat was invented specifically for women .

thank you, weeal :o)

actually, I was once sitting in that mighty car park called the M25, stationary as per.. a man came up the slip road determined to cut in. he gave me a filthy look as he made a hand signal (in an arrogant "I'm moving in, like it or not" fashion), I waved him on and he drove straight into the lorry in front of me!

oh, karma.......... :o)

No Ethel i am British, and honest, i will admit my faults unlike most females that can't possibly admit when they are in the wrong, and if you dare prove it they just say "Whatever" and pull a face as adequately proved here on my Q.
I vaguely recall one of these men begging me not to call the police when I was sitting crying in my car waiting for the ambulance, too. Still, I won't blame that on him being male. :)

Oh - I thought you must be American with your American spellings.

And you need to chill out - an angry motorist is a dangerous driver
