We were planning to use a layer of our 6 year old wedding cake for a pending christening, but after taking some of the icing off it seems to have gone a bit dry. Can it be rescued or do we need to get a new one?

If you make holes in the bottom of the cake, just by sticking in a skewer and pour in for example brandy it will moisten the cake and add flavour dont over do it though.
