What is the best way to eat beans on toast? I'm not talking about just grating some cheese on top or putting some worereceseteshire sauce on it. Woostestershire. Whatever.

best keep it simple Hovis White Granary with ancor butter and beans on top!!
got to have butter on the toast and nice hot beans on top, sometimes a bit of cheese. yummy proper comfort food.
Loads of white pepper, a dollop of HP, and a couple of hot chilli sauces, say Encona and Baron.

Off a plate with a knife and fork...
I find that letting the toast cool before putting the beans on stops the toast becoming as soggy
Cut the well buttered toast into squares before putting the beans on top and add brown sauce.
to make it extra special, put a fried egg on the top, heaven.
i like to leave my toast to cool, loads of butter, cut into little squares and make a circle shape with them, then put the beans in the middle. this leaves the toast nice and crispy and buttery. philledelphia on top makes a nice change. mm i think ill have it for lunch now :-)
I agree with ray!

cool buttered toast..a slice in the middle with triangles either side. A heap of beans with a runny fried egg (or poached) on the top.

Yum :o)
I prefer mine on well buttered white bread, not toast, with grated cheese on the top!
Fried egg in the middle for me
Add some tuna to the beans! its the best combination!
This has been an education for me !! Fried egg on beans ? Tuna ? Beans on toast is beans on toast. What is it like if you stab the yolk and it runs into the beans ? Fried eggs should be eaten carefully from the outside in, then you can chuck the entire yolk into your mouth as a final flourish. T-shirts are cheap if you miss.
I like to slice up wieners (about 1/2" thick) and put them in the pot of beans while they are heating up. And then all put on toast and butter with HP sauce.
what ghastly combinations!
I too cut the toast up, you only need a fork that way! I like to add curry powder and heat them for a good while so they go a bit mushy. For some reason they just taste better that way! Some times I add onion too, yum!
Add 3 blobs of fish sauce followed by a handful of peas, 2 digestives (smashed), a touch of basil for smell and spread a good helping of nutella on one toast and a bit of marmite on the other.... Mmm, yum, yum. Try it.

Oh, yes, tiggertan! Someone who agrees with me about mushy beans, LOL! It's all my grandma could ever cook for us and even those she over cooked, but they're de~lish, aren't they? :o)

Wow. I didn't expect a response like that! Thanks everyone. Pinkspangle have you tried the same combination on a jacket potatoe? Meant to be really nice but not tried it myself. Please keep the suggestions coming in. Beans on toast rules o.k. And if you have not had a fried egg with your beans on toast, then you should. woresestersher.
