Can't help with Cumbria.... I too wanted rice noodles- to make Pad thai. I eventually got them in an ethnic supermarket ( in Shepherds Bush) when I went up to London last month. Perhaps one of the larger supermarkets- Sainsburys might be the best bet.

Thanks rawtalent. Ethnic supermarket??? What's that??? Nearest tiny Sainsbury's is 30 miles. I have found rice noodles in Sainsbury's but they seem to be to cook and look to be soft. I may try and stir fry them and see what happens. Watch this space.
Get the fine noodles, follow the instructions to soften them. Drain them really well. Heat some vegetable oil in a wok then add the noodles, not too many at a time, its trial and error !! remove when crispy. serve straight away

Sounds good to me. I have a recipe for hot, sweet & sour fish on cripsy rice noodles. Tried it recently in SA and it was YUM. Thanks again rawtalent
