I'm the other way round! No Tesco in my area but would prefer it to Sainsburys.
sainsbury's hands down!! tesco's is rotten!!
Prefer Tesco, have both within a mile of home and very rarely use Sainsbury's.
Again, Tesco far more convenient. Given the choice...still Tesco for most things, based on price.
Morrisons!!!
Sainsbury's as the other choice is a Tesco Metro...way too busy and far too expensive

I would give my eye-teeth for either.

Co-op, Morrisons or a tiny Somerfield is all I got.

Kaz.

Tescos not impressed, Sainsburys too pricey! Asda is best..mind you our somerfield is being replaced by Waitrose..so might give it a try
I live equally close to both, I do prefer Tesco, on the rare occasion I go to Sainburys they are way too pricey. I live 20 miles from Asda, would'nt make a special trip but when I do go to that town I always enjoy a shop in Asda, good choice and price.
sainsbury's all the way. they are great. i'm also very fond of marks & spencer. they are one of my favorite

Metz, If you think sainsburys is pricey then youll hate waitrose. If you pop in for milk and bread and a few bits dont expect change from 20.

My choice would be tescos. I have a sainsburys and Waitrose nearby but if i can i travel 15 miles to tescos

its gotta be SAINSBURYS for me
I think it depends very much on the shop. I used to live in an area with 2 large Tescos and a Sainsburys. One of those Tescos was the clear winner but where I am now the local Tescos isn't much cop so I go to Sainsburys.

I used to like Tesco's rather than sainsbury's but since moving the Tesco near me is crxx so I now I prefer Sainsburys
Sainsburys

Sainsburys win hands down! We have both near us and the Tescos is awful, despite being one of the mega-Tescos stores (Extra?). Sainsburys has much more choice and better quality.

I do miss having a Waitrose near us now we've moved northwards though! ;-)

Sainsburys would be my first choice, but unfortunately Tesco is round the corner whereas Sainsburys is about 8 miles away. Thats probably why they do well because they suffocate us.

I've gone off Tesco lately. We have a new model the size of several aircraft hangars and a real b****r to get round. You need a plan of campaign and floor diagram before setting out otherwise you will spend a morning of bemused wandering.

Our Sainsbury's has a dreadful layout but quite likeable in an eccentric sort of way. So, we tend to use Sainsbury's and Morrison's with Tesco as a last resort.

Why is it these mammoth companies have highly paid personnel supposedly designing these monoliths and still can't get it right??

Sainsburys everytime! The staff are very friendly and helpful, also with the loyalty card you actually get money off your bill. At Tesco you are sent vouchers which dictate which products you can use them on. The only minus point for Sainsburys is - stock your shelves properly!!!!!!!! Many times I've gone there to do my shopping (I live 10 miles from the store) only to find several empty shelves!!!!! You sometimes can't even get the most basic thing on your list because they've let the stock run out completeley before reordering!!
