Hello all. I'm out to impress my mates tomorrow night by holding a curry night at my house. It's just us girls all getting together. I have cooked a curry which is in my freezer. What I would like is some nice Indian things that will go along with it. Can anyone give me suggestions of any nice little things I can do to make my Indian night more authentic? Thanks in advance x

Samosas and bhajis? x

I made a divine mango and pistachio kulfi to follow curry last weekend. Went down a storm.

Get a cheap Hindi music tape. Get your pals to dress in saris, do some henna tattoos, crank up the heating, sit on the floor on rugs and cushions, only speak in Hindi, no shoes allowed in the house, munch on coloured suagr coated fennel seeds for afters to settle the stomachs (even Asda are selling these now!).

Friend of mine had a similar do recently and did the above (not the speaking bit) and said it was a really good time.

And dress the food with edible silver - dead posh, buy from local Asian shops. Very authentic as well. Serve raithia - yoghurt drinks - and burn a couple of light scented incense sticks before your guests arrive.

Have fun!
