If you are going to eat the bread straight away, don't bother to add fat (I never put it in mine) Use water instead of milk and use a little less salt, but not much less as you may find the end result a bit tasteless. and try using granary flour, it has a lovely taste, is much better for you and will fill you up faster than white, so you don' eat so much (i.e. less calories!)

Happy baking!

Thanks for that I wondered if it could be made without the fat and I will try the granary Thanks again

Hi Wendilla, I have tried to simplify my recipe for granary bread and cut out uneven or literal weight/volume conversions. Works like a dream.

200g string white flour, 200g granary flour, 250ml warm water, 1tbspn milk powder, 2 tspns yeast, 1tspn salt, 1tspn sugar, 15g butter.

Setting no.4 on my machine, all completed in 1hr 55mins.

p.s. make that strong!!!
