I bought my favourite biscuit in Coop today.

Bahlsen Choco Leibniz.

They are now £2.25  for 8 biscuits.

Last time I bought them there was 12 in a pack.

They're £1.20 with a Tesco Clubcard.

The price of cocoa beans has increased by over 90% since the beginning of the year. Would you rather they made the packs smaller and kept the price the same or put the price of a packet up? It depends whether you need to watch your purse or your waistline.

I got them for 1.75 with my coop rewards.

I object to them putting the price up but making them smaller packs

Everything's a rip-off - see my post about standing charges  :(

Shrinkflation: the pages of the MoS are now about an inch smaller!

Price rises are relatively honest, shrinkflation is covert.

Any brand trying the latter should lose market share.

It is a cynical trick by the manufacturers, chocolate bars are getting smaller and less biscuits in a pack, they can get away with it.

As long as the weghts/volumes are clearly displayed, I don't see a problem. We all know that sizes are being reduced, so it means that the unit pricing becomes more important.

Do they sell them in Poundland?  I think so

I didn't know that, brainiac, but have you noticed how AB pages are getting smaller too? And I'm sure there's less thought going into them.
