A glass of water.

Abstinence

I always used tp enjoy the lidls one when i could drink it

I've not had it in a while, but Aldi used to do an excellent copy.

The Aldi one was quite good.

I have a recipe somewhere for making your own Baileys, which, from memory, tastes exactly the same.

I could dig it out later if you fancy making your own, or if you're like me, can't be bothered and  just want to buy a bottle.

Recipes welcome, too, if it keeps well.

yeah home made Bailey you kinda have to drink on the night as the crayma is unstable and clots.

Do NOT eke out a little Baileys with white wine -  it is like drinking vomit....( immediate curdles)

It keeps for put to two months in the fridge Barry. I'll see if I can find the one I used once the joiner has gone, can't get in the kitchen at the mo.

Thanks, Vagus.  I used to make brandy Alexander which is a similar drink.  I enjoy having a go.

I wanted to see if some visitors who insist only Bailey's will do notice I have put something else in a Bailey's bottle.  I only buy it for them.

When Which? last tested them, Bailey's was just the winner with both Aldi and Sainsbury very close behind. Sainsbury was £4 cheaper than Bailey's but Aldi was less than half it's price.

It's made of cream and it's lovely in coffee.  It varies enormously in price.  £7.99 at Lidl but not a litre.

Aldi Balleycastle is only £4.79 for 70cl...they do a posh version also.

Lidl do a version. Not so good as Bailey's but great in coffee, poured over ice cream etc. Think it's under a fiver a bottle.

Thanks everyone.

Love to know the outcome

I will report back

I've just been through my recipe folder and had no luck, not surprised as it was probably over 40 years ago since I made it. Sorry Barry.

I appreciate you taking the time, so thank you, Vagus

Here's a BBC recipe "first buy your Irish whisky" 😁

Other recipes use sweetened condensed milk.
