Lentil, carrot and onion burgers in a soft oven bottom muffin, accompanied by a pea shoot, baby spinach, cucumber and cherry tomato salad with some sort of dressing. A squishy banana which needs using up mashed with a bit of cream for afters. Hope the burgers are tasty, not had them before and there are eight of them in the pack!
It’s G&T o’clock now though. Slurp..
Does anyone always have fish in a Friday? We usually do, not for religious reasons but just because it makes us eat fish.

This evening i am having a takeaway home delivery, a meat special Pizza with a Side Salad. Lovely.
Vagus, Friday was the only day I enjoyed school dinners, way back when, it was always fish fingers beans and chips which they couldn't mess up too badly. Still tend to have a 'chippy tea' on a Friday
Question Author
And why not, William, it is after all the start of the weekend.
Margo, I think I’m the only person in the world who really liked school dinners, well, apart from some dodgy stews which had more gristle than meat. Cheese pie, mash and baked beans was a particular favourite of mine.
I was a server and always remember opening the tin box to reveal a couple of small pieces of meat and lots of fatty gristle floating about in greyish water which I took back to the dinner ladies and said I couldn't serve it. Gross
Question Author
Horrible, Margo. I can still remember trying to spit the gristle out without being shouted at by the dinner ladies.
Roast chicken, chips and peas. The house smells lovely.
Probably fish n chips tonight..
Btw out of interest what time do you normally have dinner?
I had fish...well prawns actually...last night. Meatballs from the freezer for lunch, so keeping it light later with an omelette.
Question Author
Tilly, there’s something very comforting (and very tasty) about chicken and chips, it takes me back to my childhood and being treated to it in a department store restaurant, I thought it was soooo posh.
Question Author
Home made patsy or chippy?
We don’t have dinner in this house piggy, we have lunch around 1pm, and tea (although I tend to refer to it as our evening meal these days so there’s no confustion) at around 6pm.
Are you feeling better now pasta?
Tesco oven Chunky Cod fillets in bread crumbs & McCains frozen chips with peas. :-)
Question Author
That’s a similar fishy meal we usually have on a Friday patsy, I sometimes indulge in a chip butty too if there’s enough chips :)
Ooh, nice...:-)
Question Author
It’s gotta be thick white bread, lashings of real salty butter, and tons of tomato ketchup to make it perfect..
Hmm, now I wish we were having your meal patsy ;)
We are having beef stew and dumplings. Random veg out of bottom of fridge plus some stewing steak. I've made enough to be able to freeze some for a quick meal next week.

I'd eat more fish and more veg based meals but Mr BM likes his meat. And I really cant be bothered to prepare 2 different meals.
Late to answer Vagus...yes, much better thank you. My sense of taste left me, but it's back now.
Having burgers too accompanied with tarka dahl I made yesterday and some wedges.
Sorry vagus ive lived in Spain far too long!
when i lived in the uk, it was breakfast, dinner, tea and supper.

I’ve never cooked individual meals, Barmaid, they always got what they were given, and fortunately OH will eat pretty much anything put in front of him. We’ve both got used to not eating much meat, I’ve always enjoyed vegetarian dishes and often chose them but now OH is the same.
Glad you’re feeling better Pasta. Some of those no carb pizza bases you posted about looked interesting..if I could be bothered I’d probably give them a go.
Did you enjoy your burgers ymfb, ours were totally delicious I’m pleased to say.
Piggy, everyone seems to call their meals a different name, doesn’t matter does it, as long as we have some scrumptious food. It’s never been breakfast, dinner, tea and supper in this house but who cares? Hope you enjoyed your meal.
