Love it? Hate it? Never had it??
I can’t get hold of the spice thing to do it so have just ordered two bottles of ready mulled wine on our click and collect.
For me, mulled wine is part of Christmas, I really enjoy it on Christmas Eve while prepping the veg etc. No wonder I sleep well and never hear Father Christmas.

I had quite a bit on Sat night. It was pre-made (Morrisons) with some extra orange juice added and some cinnamon sticks. It was very nice. I had a banging head the next day tho.
The Christkindl sold in Lidl is excellent and authentic, it's what we bought when living in Germany. Our Gluehwein 'season' starts on bonfire night, really keeps the chill out when watching fireworks!
Don't like it
I tried it once and nearly gagged, just not for me.

That’s what I’ll do Barmaid, tweak it a bit with some orange and lemon slices too.
We’d have been having Swedish glogg had things worked out, however Sainsbury’s mulled wine will have to suffice this year. Gluehwein is also lovely zebo, all the smells and tastes of Christmas in a glass.

Other half doesn’t like it so I usually end up having to finish it, oh heck, what a chore ;)
Mulled wine... And Mulled cider with a shot of rum in either. Love both.

Rowan, I have some Bulmers cider hanging around, if I just heated it a bit and added some spiced rum (Brewdog 500 cuts being my go to rum at the moment)and some fruit juice do you think that’s work, as I say,I don’t have any of the mulling spices.
///Other half doesn’t like it /// But you keep serving it up to him LOL.
Had some mulled wine at a Christmas market in Germany many moons ago. Didn't persuade me to make or buy any more. Maybe I should try a bottle of Lidl's Christkindl as recommended by zebo.
Really needs the spices, but hot rum and cider would be nice anyway. If you get a chance try it with Perry as well, spike a pear with cloves, and add orange peel, cinnamon sticks and a piece of peeled fresh ginger. Then if you have it a generous glug of brandy. Heat until flavour infuse, take paracetamol in the morning for the well earned hangover

Ha ha Rowan, good idea!
