What you should do is find a good dog groomer. Take pooch down there for a trim and ask the proprietor if she'd kindly give you a tupp'ney all off before you go. Animal grooming facilities may stay open but must only be used for the purposes of an animal’s welfare (and not for aesthetic purposes). So make sure pooch has got its fur nicely matted before you go.
