I read somewhere that Diana Rigg’s favourite tipple was a cocktail of ‘one part Cointreau, the rest Prosecco’. Has anyone tried that? I might give it a go.

That sounds quite refreshing, Naomi.
Sounds revolting - Cointreau is vile and sweet and prosecco is just plain vile.

I thought that, Patsy. Quite a nice idea.

I like Cointreau, diddly, especially after dinner in a nice glass of coffee topped with thick cream.

If I am drinking fizz it has to be champagne....not fond of cointreau either. I do like champagne with a splash of cranberry liqueur.

Oooo ... I might try that too. Hic!
My favourite cocktail is a White Lady -equal measures of Gin, Cointreau and freshly squeezed lemon, shaken with ice then poured into a cocktail glass.
A long glass with lots of crushed ice,a large measure of Campari topped up with champagne or cava!
Of late, I’ve been enjoying one part brandy, one part Stones green ginger wine, plus a good splash of either lime cordial or juice of half a lime. Very warming and seasonal.
Cointreau and fizz sounds very nice.
Cointreau and Baileys over ice. It's like a liquid toffee apple :)
Ooh, cocktails. I'm drinking far too many Manhattan and Old Fashioneds lately.

The Cointreau and Prosecco sounds very nice, I must say.
Jack Daniel's HONEY, with plenty of chilled cola.
I'm not mad on that JD honey one. I do like the Fire, though, on it's own.
I've never understood the "thing" about prosecco - a good Cava or sparkling Loire are so much nicer.

I'm with the Queen. 1 part gin to two parts Dubonnet. Top up with tonic or soda water to taste.
Dubonnet - now there's a memory...
