Hi,

I am cooking a chicken tonight but do not plan on eating it as a meal (will use bits for salad for lunch tomorrow) until Weds evening (bought it on Saturday, needs to be cooked by Tues, have meals already sorted for Mon/Tues). Has anyone got any suggestions as to several meals i could make please. I am following a food combining routine which means i can't have any carbs with it so does anyone know of anything different than Chicken Salad or Chicken and Veg.

Thanks

Coronation Chicken makes a quick filling & tasty snack meal if you're got a jar of curry paste and some ready cooked chicken.

Thanks...what would accompany it please?

This is an excellent marinade for pieces of roast chicken:

  • Dollop of tahini (sesame paste)

  • Small tub of full-fat yoghurt

  • Olive oil, lemon juice

  • Garlic

  • Salt, pepper, ground cummin, pul biber (Turkish chilli flakes)

Mix the ingredients to a smooth paste and add the pieces of roast chicken. Marinate overnight if possible. Eat cold or grill, perhaps with some grated sheep's cheese on top. I'd normally recommend pitta bread, but if you not allowed carbs...

or go to google and look for epicurious then look for recipies and type chicken.

Thanks again.

The main thing is we can't eat carbs with it so didn't know if anyone had some tasty filling alternatives.

Roast the chicken and it will last a few days. Why no carbs? They are good for you. Plenty of potatoes or rice to fill you up.

We can eat carbs....and we do....but not with protein. Protein and carbs should not be mixed....all to do with digestion.....boring i'm afraid!!

Jx

Sorry, but a balanced diet must contain both carbohydrates and protein eaten together.

Why do you say that?

Would love it to be true! Please explain.
