Did the hospital not arrange a follow-up visit via the district nurses for her? They usually send a letter out to her doctor's surgery to inform them she was being sent home.

Ok posted twice did'nt now best catorgary hopefully ed will just post it in the right one.
Is it pain that is stopping her or fear of falling?

Can she express clearly what the problem is.
Question Author
local surgery dont seem to be doing much, Jen dosnt want me to ask for home visit for her, but thats what I,m going to arrange tomorrow. Even the walk to get her in wheelchair will wear her out
Question Author
Mama yes she can express pain, but with all food and supplements, something is not working.
Ok.....what was wrong with her? how long in hospital? what can she do now? who said she needed to get mobile? what did they mean by that? what can she do now? any depression or dementia? You need community rehabilitation, it may be known by another name in your area, its not the nurses' job, you need rehab staff, usually Occupational Therapist or Physio therapist and support staff. I will commnent more if you want me to, when I know more.
Certainly sounds like a plan is need, both in pain relief levels and some gentle physio to get her started - try to get someone on your side Ton.
Glad Woof is in , an expert in this field.
thanks Mamya, i do my best
She clearly needs after care ...physio...proper pain management and possibly home call in care for a while...the hospital ought to have a care package in place before discharging..do NOT struggle on...home visit from GP and ask about the above

Woofgang yes we should have OT bet she came once said Jens blood pressure was low and no more seen of her. Ive purchased blood pressure machine and hers is fine, much better than mine lol
You may cause yourself....and wife...harm by attempting to deal with things ...phone first thing and proper care package put in place !
Question Author
ok Minty I would not do any silly, but after 8 weeks of visiting, and caring Im not feeling A1 either so appointment for both of us tomorrow.

Question Author
Ok will take any thats offered thanks for advice x
Speak with you tomorrow...night night Tony xx
It is worth getting her pain and other meds reviewed however after a long stay in hospital there are huge psychological issues, usually fear, and anxiety but also having been able to depend on staff all the time there can be strange feelings of being abandoned by the system. It sounds like she would have benefited from some time, maybe only a week in some form of step down unit.
Get in touch with her consultants team at the hospital and your GP and make it clear she is coping badly and you need additional help.

Another thing renal patients do suffer from extreme fatigue which can be improved by diet so a dietician referral might help too.
Hope you get what you need from the Doc, Tony. Will wait to hear what happens before commenting further
