Think I shall do an indian style meal tonight

Popadoms and pickles
Onion Bhajis
Chicken Korma
Sag Ponir
Naan bread

mostly home made. Or I could just dial out for a takeaway!

What are you going to eat?

Chicken and mango bunged on top of sweet leaf salad and Singapore noodles with a sweet chilli and coriander dressing.
And wine.
Hands up, I'm a sad old housewife..except I'm not sad today, maybe a bit older than I'd like to be. And definitely a housewife, or not, don't housewives do housework? Ok then, I'm not.
And more wine.
I've had curry (a bowl filled with surprise ingredients, I'm getting used to it) my neighbour makes, he often makes a batch of it and leaves me in a bowl, it's 'nice' with a baked potato, well, it filled a gap and saved me cooking on this gorgeous day :)
chicken salad for me... and a cheeky wee strawberry trifle is lurking for later
Salade Niçoise for us. Tinned tuna though.
Never made that Tilly, are you putting anchovies in it? Himself isn't partial to them but the rest looks tasty.
I've just phoned for a curry to celebrate my eldest son finishing college - it's such a big order that they usually give him a bottle of lager when he goes in to collect it (although they once gave one to my 12 year old daughter).
M&S braised steak and mash with steamed broccoli and carrots. This'll be washed down with a bottle of plonk.
No, no anchovies, Eth. I don't like them 'raw'.
Well done your son sher. And the parents :-)
Korean sticky pork belly slices with crispy baby calamari, cashew nut rice and some crackers. Homemade btw.
Have a bash at Jansens temptation Tilly but use UK anchovies and not the fish the Swedish call 'anchovies', its such a tasty potato dish and a lovely accompaniment to any meal.
Don't know where you find the time or energy NoM ;)
Thanks for that, Eth. I might have a go in the week.

As it's Friday I guess it will be a Hot Indian later.
I have too much time but not enough energy, eth. Not a lot of work involved in that dish though.
Omelette and beans ....I know.
Love omelette and beans mamy, it's a go to meal for us as it's tasty and filling, and more importantly, easy.
Apparently, authentic Janssons Temptation uses sprats, not anchovies. I've never made it, but have to admit that the inclusion of anchovies is what makes it attractive to me.
Forgot to add...i was planning slow cooker belly pork, but since I got home late, it will be either salmon or a cheese omelette.
The Swedish branch of the family brought over some of the tins of things they use so I've made it both ways.I prefer the uk anchovy version but the traditional Swedish one is also very nice. It's just a different way of serving up potatoes.
Funnily enough, we had the Swedish version in Barcelona recently, whodathought??
I love multiculturalism :)
