A friend told me she was having this yesterday and that made me think who the hell invented these weird combinations? Obviously some rich toff with much on their hands but the real question is why commoners blindly follow them and exclaim, wow this is great! And fish eggs ( caviar ) as well, do people know how this is produced? Who said “ yeah, I’m going to squeeze a rare fish and eat it’s babies on crackers?” Against some weird toff, no doubt.

I struggle walking and chewing gum simultaneously.

Why leap to the conclusion it was "weird toffs" who came up with the port n cheese combo and not some spanish or french peasants? One combo which I can never understand and detest is ham and pineapple.... I don't know if we can blame this one on weird toffs (whoever he/she is) too?
Bacon and eggs is nice. Now, who thought of that?
Duck paté with violet petal marmalade - now there's a combination!

The marmalade is very popular throughtout Spain and available in most good delis. They're not toffs, they just love good food.
I rather like a "mother and child reunion" toasted sandwich Tilly
NoMercy...."violet petal marmalade" sounds intriguing !

I don't go abroad any more, so where can I get some here ? Nothing is listed on eBay.

( I don't use Amazon )

I believe I saw the violet petal marmalade in Fortum and mason once, or maybe it was the jam or something similar
I usually get it from Amazon, Mikey. Theres a good Spanish Deli in Aberystwyth - are you far from there?
Jahulaye................in that case, I will just pop down to the station and find out when the next train to Paddington is !
