My dad, who is in a care home has been hankering for an Indian meal for ages. Finally, today, we took him out and, bearing in mind he usually has a bit of meat, a spoonful of mash and some mixed vegetables for lunch in the care home, he did well with his feast today.

He had:- Poppadoms and chutneys, King prawn puri, Chicken shaslik, special fried rice, a bit of naan bread and two pints of Cobra. He ate every bit.

This is a man who was at end of life stage in November 2014. Well done, Dad!

Good for him. Hope he enjoyed every mouthful.
That's great, Tilly. Let's hope it has whet his appetite and he has some more things like this to aim for.
How lovely for you all, I am glad your dad was able to enjoy his meal.

Great result Tilly, as you say 'well done Dad'

It was lovely to see him eating with such enjoyment. His eyes lit up when each course arrived.

The only problem he had was with the poppadoms. Getting them to his mouth before they shattered was a bit of a feat.
Ahh I bet he really enjoyed it xx
He should have quickly dipped them in his beer first, Tilly
That's given me a great big smile - Go Dad!! xxx

FF, I'll suggest that to him next time. I didn't think of that. Good idea. :-)
Maybe try Harry Ramsden's or somewhere like that next- fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pint

He'd enjoy that as well, FF, and so would I.

We have to find windows of 'wellness' in order to be able to take him out. He's going through a good patch at the moment.

He might not feel so well in the morning though.......all that roughage.....!

Well done him!

Can I have the leftover naan bread, flippin' love them.

And 2 pints....a legend!
Oh, that's a lovely thing to read, Tilly - well done indeed, Dad! :-)
Such a joyous posting. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely. Bet he really enjoyed it too
That's really lovely to read...it sounds like he loves his food ( and life).
Lovely!!! If he gets such pleasure with food it's wonderful for you to see.
