Hold basics box in hand, flip up lids of various XL free range boxes and swap said eggs - job done. I have just stood next to someone in the supermarket and watched them do this.

Cheeky!
I just wander out to the hen house and get what I'm given.

To do a cheeky swap in the shop is uber cheeky!

Not just cheeky but unfair on other shoppers who will then be buying the XL eggs. There have been times when I have bought eggs and noticed that one or two are much smaller than the others. Makes me wonder if it`s a regular occurance.
Can't believe someone would take the risk, but unless they are caught on camera how do they prove what's occurred? I would never do that, sure as eggs is eggs :-)
In my local supermarket, you won't believe the cheating that goes on!! This egg scam is nothing. I've seen folks scan just one item and walk out with a full shop.
How do they manage that?
They should be ashamed of themselves, but I bet they are not.
They pile it up on the scanner in front, press finish and pay then load it into the shopping area.
Youd be surprised the scams ive seen going on in our local supermarket when i worked there. People switching over the price tickets of small and large turkeys at christmas. teenagers with bottles of vodka up each sleeve., people buying a pot of yoghurt every week then bringing back the empty tub and saying it was "off" and demanding a refund., to name just a few.
Are these the handheld scanners?

I know someone who puts most things through the self service as loose bananas...
My son used to work in Tesco's they regularly found the bones of a whole roast chicken dumped in a display rack, people buy a hot roast chicken and eat it while walking round the shop and just dump the bag and bones.
People take clothes into the changing room, put them on and then put their old clothes back on the hanger and hang them back on the rack, they even swap the price tickets onto their old gear!
Must admit that I opene the box and check that each egg is not cracked!
I once saw a lady take three choc ices out of a packet put the open pack back and her children were eating them as she shopped - I mentioned it to an assistant who replied 'Oh she buys a huge trolley full each week, we'll let it pass'.
Being a thieving git seems to be cool and gives you street cred these days. Micky Flanagan doesn't care that people know he's a sandwich tea leaf

Well, I reported her to Security. I expect I might be castigated for that on her but I don`t give a ***.

*here*
One day I was in the 'returns' queue at B&Q... the guy in front of me had a large tin of clear varnish to return. He said it was the wrong colour. He then prised the lid off it to reveal the contents. It was half full of spaghetti. Someone had obviously decanted the varnish, before putting the spaghetti into the tin and taking it back to get their money back. It would then have been put back on the shelf for the next por soul.
I think you were right to report the incident, for years I depended on poultry as my own pin money, selling eggs to local shops and country markets, it would have been a loss to my pocket had someone gone and done this on me
