Rice Question

when I tipped some rice out of the jar its kept in I noticed some brown powder in the bottom, I've don't know what it is, so did not use the rice, I must admit I have had this rice some time, can someone tell me what the brown powder is please.

Possibly rice weevils, their larva or eggs. Get rid of all rid of rice, wheat and maize products, wash out all jars and disinfect all cupboards they were in as my auntie got them and she only got rid of the rice jar rice and we were finding them whilst eating rice/pasta etc.. dishes months later as they burrow inside to lay eggs. Disgusting creepy looking little things.

yuk, well I cooked the rice and will feed the birds with it.
What harm do weevils actually do. You will be cooking the rice or flour.
