Between zero coca cola and diet coke. One has zero sugar and zero calories and the other has no sugar and no calories.
This is from a full page ad in the newspapers. What a waste of space.

Neither have any taste!
Both make me belch...
Both are expensive sweetened water.
Both should be used as toilet cleaners. The difference is one is better than the other.
Zero has no caffeine but diet does?
Question Author
I haven't drunk cola since I was a youngster and didn't particularly like it. I remembered putting a coin in a glass of it and watching what happened to it and wondering what would happen to my innards if I drank any. I just thought what a stupid advert.
Question Author
The ad didn't mention caffeine.
Diet Coke was considered to be a girly drink so Coca Cola brought out a boy's version - Coke Zero. I believe that there are minor differences in the recipe.

I like Pepsi Max myself.

Coke Zero was designed to taste like Coke but without the sugar. Diet Coke was designed as a stand-alone taste.
Their take...

Coca‑Cola Zero delivers the great taste of Coca‑Cola, with zero sugar. While it has the same sweeteners as Diet Coke (a blend of aspartame and acesulfame-K), it has a different flavour base, though both are low calorie and zero sugar.

make of that what you will.
I love craft......
Aspartame, besides your teeth, is worse than sugar.
wolf's got it. Diet Coke seemed to be selling to females (hence all the ads showing them stopping work to watch hunky builders drinking it), but not males, not even hunky builders. They decided they needed to come up with a Bloke Coke, and that's what Coke Zero is, black livery and all.

They're pushing a green Coke now, with supposedly fewer calories still

Not really jno. Coke Zero and Diet Coke are completely different tastes and men (particularly American men in my experience) love Diet Coke. I can`t believe how some of them can drink can after can of it. It`s more addictive than regular Coke.
I can't drink diet coke...it tastes like Pepsi to me, and I hate Pepsi.

Being brought up in a pub I've drank waaaaaaay too much coke in my life.
I'm not saying they got it right, 237SJ. I can't really think who might like the taste of Coke Zero; but I'm not their target audience anyway. But it's been selling for almost 10 years, so I suppose it's doing okay.

Apparently Diet Coke was supposed to taste different from the Real Thing but Zero was supposed to taste the same. Only I don't like either of them, but am happier with Diet Coke. (I don't like the various Pepsi lights either, which is a shame because it's very much cheaper than Coke at Costco).

I think its all to do with the asparatame/acusulfame-k mixes.... there's some scientific conjecture about the breakdown of aspartame being harmful but no catagoric proof as yet.... they all taste grim anyway
There is only one use for Coke and that is when it is a long island iced tea.
