Have any experienced lobster eaters tried frozen lobster from the likes of Lidl, CostCo or Iceland?

If so how do you rate it?

Thanks all. I didn't have high hopes but thought it worth enquiring. I might do a test run on the Lidl offering.

Back to the Christmas dinner drawing board...... :-(
I had rock lobster from Aldi a few months back. It was lush.

I had venison from Aldi last night and it was tender, tasty and succulent.
Asda frozen lobster is quite small, not a lot of meat on them but still tasty.

And I'll give Aldi a go too ;-)
Can someone tell me just how tricky it is to get the meat out of those Lidl lobsters, please? I like lobster meat but I've never actually had a whole (even if small) lobster in front of me and been faced with the task of getting the meat out. I've looked at web pages (and Youtube videos) which seek to explain the method and they all seem to suggest that I need more specialist tools than a brain surgeon does; I'm left wondering whether it's actually worth all the effort!
I've never tried frozen lobster but I'd have thought frozen lobster was better than no lobster at all - food of the Gods.

Thanks, DB.

I have a very very narrow silver fork to get the meat out of legs and crannies (it was designed for the purpose). That and a pair of nutcrackers should suffice.
Chris, I bought a whole lobster earlier this year when I was on holiday in a tent. I can assure you a sharp knife, a pair of pliers and a bit of wire works just fine.
much easier than dressing a crab.

Tin snips and nutcrackers - work a treat :)

Thank you, Prudie & Barmaid. (I'm still not too sure how easy it would actually be with five felines all trying to get in there before me though. Eating any type of fish is nearly impossible in this house!)
Thanks to the others who've answered my question as well. (Apologies for cluttering up your thread, EC).
