After finding Answerbank I hardly have time for anything else. I used to collect stamps when I was a kid.
When I got made redundant/retired I bought a wood turning lathe. Something I'd fancied having a go at for ages.
The result is, all the family get wooden fruit bowls, candle sticks, goblets, boxes etc. for Christmas and birthdays.
When I mount a piece of wood in my lathe I don't know for sure what's hiding inside. A couple of hours later I've usually found it and polished it with real beeswax. It even smells nice.
I knit.
Money!
Did a lot of sea fishing over the years but packed up as I've enough problems keeping my feet on the land let alone a boat.Never been one for collecting things though dare I admit to being a train spotter as a kid?but that was when we had proper steam trains.
1. Listener Crossword

2. Motorbike

3. Beer

... which seem to all be mutually incompatible - certainly can't indulge in 3 before or during doing 1 or 2, and can't do 1 whilst on 2 :+)
Gardening...is that a hobby?....Any type of craft work...and bird watching. I don't collect anything....well except wool and fabric.

What's your hobby, GM?
I collect scars
You still doing the job as bouncer in that rough quayside bar, Mrs O?
Sandy, yes I am....but only on nights when it is quiet down at the docks
Playing music, repairing musical instruments. photography inc. B/W film stuff, old cameras.
Our animals are our hobbies, mainly the hounds.
With the coming of the internet and such facilities as eBay, collecting has become somewhat formulaic unfortunately. Just set up a regular alert and sit back and wait, then go bid. Dampens the excitement and sense of achievement somewhat. Anyone agree ?

Gness, I enjoy coming on here and doing anything connected with quizzes, and i send for the fundraising quiz sheets .In the past ive collected all sorts, stamps, ornaments, miniature bottles of drink until i couldnt get anymore in the display cabinet,When my husband was alive we enjoyed travelling and i used to collect fridge magnets, mostly ones with the name of the places on them that we had visited.
I brew my own beer. Not the kit stuff, from fresh ingredients. Off road cycling when its fine and gaming when its not!
I like to tinker with clocks and watches: I have to go now because I don't have a lot of time.
Knit in the winter, garden in the summer. Gardening's certainly a hobby, gness, some people don't do it.

In the past, I collected stamps and first day covers. I got in the habit of collecting commemorative teaspoons and teatowels when I went on holiday, until I got more teatowels that I could possibly use. I seem to collect cats at the moment :-)
