Do you have a blanket type thing on the arm of your sofa?

I have one and have been surprised by how many people I know who also have them.

If you have one what is your driving reason?

A) Necessary to keep warm;
B) Snuggly comfort;
C) Security Blanket;
D) Some other reason....please tell.....

Both A & B - love the cosiness of a big fluffy blanket to wrap up in if you are feeling under the weather, or when it's foul weather outside. Bliss.
My sofa is covered in throws...partly for snuggling(my side), and partly as protection(the dogs side). She likes to rearrange them :-(
Eccles....I have made more comfort blankets than you could shake a knitting needle at.....

Comfort blankets and hats are my "no need to think" projects....things I can make when my mind is elsewhere but my hands need to be busy.

MrG had a good part of eleven years in hospital and apart from the king size hand made quilt for my daughter those years by a hospital bed were spent on my NNTT projects.

I have made throws in the colours of Somerset Cricket Club.....throws to match the interior of cars and throws just because I found bargain wool in charity shops.

I have one on the arm of my sofa in my favourite moss stitch.

My shroud will be a throw in the colours of a pint of Guinness....complete with harp.....☺
Mines being used as a fort :(
ours are on the backs of our sofas, ready to pull down when we need them.

a) when we need a nap, it's cosy
d) cats like to snuggle on them overnight :-)

Gness, your account is so sad and heart warming in equal measure. I do hope the comfort blankets you've knitted have brought you some comfort long term. x

Oh I have loads of them! I love them and think I've started a trend in getting them for people :)

I would rather curl up under blankets than stick the heating on until it's absolutely freezing. I did treat myself in the sale and free with a voucher to the most snuggly dressing gown, floor length with a hood. It's way to big but cosier for it.
A & B...I have them on every sofa lol
And vodka has 36 sofas.......
Lol not quite DT!
We all have a fleece each. For all of the above reasons, i think.

Pixie is your blanket used as a fort like Sherrards?

I do find something comforting about a throw/blanket/call-it-what-you-like!
Here you are Eccles.....pure luuxxury....

Mine is fleecy with two different wolves on it. Kept on the back of the sofa to use before the heating kicks in. Also pack it when staying anywhere overnight. Cannot bear the cold.
My children are a bit older than, sherr's now- but we have had the den-building, camp-making, etc too...
With your kids, I'd still be careful to what's happening inside any blanket tents that are built, pixie! lol
I wouldn't mind so much but it a super-king sized bed throw thing (stupidly expensive) that himself let them have, the ordinary throws being dismissed for being too small.
Lol. You've met them, then:-)
The smaller ones are good for flags. But you really need a good-sized fort, i find.
