Example, N.West news tonight, these new Electric cigs, some knob has said that these need to be looked into for medical reasons! he / she has also said that they should be classed as Medical, what the Feck is wrong with people, these were brought out to help people give up, does it get you wind up that, for each thing / gadget that comes out some over paid knob gets paid to look & criticize, "It realy anoys me, what about you"?

They do need to look into it as the long term effects of e liquid aren't known and that all my friends that used this to give up real cigs are now hooked on these instead as with normal cigs you smoke and forget it but with the e cigs people are vaping them nonstop all through the day several times an hour in some cases with high strength e liquid so no they have a constant supply of nicotine to the brain which when it's disrupted all hell breaks loose in fact when my friends one broke she went nuts as it was a saturday night and she never had any way of keeping her nicotine level at the high her body's been used to for the last few months.

Also a few friends have complained about heart palpitations when on these and i know that medical trials are happening now looking at the effects on the heart as well as possible risk of throat, nasal and mouth cancer.

We may find out in a few years that these cause heart problems and accelerated mouth,nasal and throat cancer as well as suddenly having thousands of addicts who now due to being used to having a constant supply of nicotine to their brains now can't even give them up.

The funny thing is everyone thinks their safe even though they're actually living, breathing guinea pigs who are all being watched to see just how safe or dangerous they actually are.

I wish people would realise that e-cigs are NOT a stop smoking device. They were invented to allow people to get past the ban on smoking in public places. They are a nicotine replacement/supplement for situations where you can't light a real cigarette.

Everybody that i know that has tried these, has either gone back to cigarettes, or permanently has an ecig in their mouth. Not sure how helpful they are in actually giving up.

It had nothing to do with the uk and was invented and marketed elsewhere long before the ban was implemented here according to this.

I've suddenly noticed quite a few being smoked on buses recently. Mainly through little pipe like things. One produced quite a bit of vapour (though it obviously didn't smell of smoke) and was interested to see if anyone complained about it (no one did).

Eve i saw an argument with a lady and a man the other day on the bus, the man was smoking it and huge clouds of vapor were being omitted and the woman wasn't to happy that her baby was inhaling these chemical clouds, it got quite heated and a few of the other passengers got involved and told the man to stop it or there would be trouble afterwards the man got off the bus. It's fairly understandable because noting is known of how they harm adults let alone what it could do to babies or their development.

Oh which ban was you referring to daffy654 as tobacco was widely accepted everywhere including restaurants, on public transport and in magazines, tv etc.. in the 60's and 70's.

Also the literature i've read hasn't mentioned anywhere that the inventors agenda inventing it was due to a "ban"

I am so glad to see the replies here and agree. People think they have given up smoking and they haven't - they are just smoking something different. And the bit of nicotine in the ecigs is enough to keep you hooked. And by the act of lifting the cigarette to your mouth and puffing away is reinforcing the habit of smoking. I have said on here many times that my daughter has now been on ecigs for 18 months and I for one would like to see them regulated. Yes, users of these devices are guinea pigs.

Nicotine isn't very harmful though. It's as bad for as caffeine. It's all the nasties that are added to cigarettes that cause the damage.

not sure about that, i am glad i don't smoke, i did see someone smoking one of those little pipe things, didn't know what it was, but at least she wasn't on the bus doing it
