We usually shop in Morrisons but im fed up with green bananas, they are hard and difficult to peel. We now need to buy excess bananas and Kiwi and keep a backlog for ripening.

I will have a look around the other supermarkets to see if they do ripe ones, I never used to have this problem!!!!!

It winds me up!!!

Ok, rant over.................... and breeeeeathe.................

i've found the co-op do yellow bananas sometimes on the small size though
Waitrose sell loose bananas that are of varying levels of ripeness, but usually yellow. They also sell bags of bananas, with a bunch of yellow and a bunch of green for home ripening.
i like the green ones :-) in asda they do various stage of banananess

Maybe because it's winter-bananas don't ripen so quickly....so there's more unripe ones.

I consider myself something of a connoisseur of bananas, and I think Tescos bananas are best and Waitrose the worst

Kloofnek, I have an Indian friend that doesn't like English bananas, she was brought up on a banana farm in India, she told me that the Indian bananas were much better than the ones we eat. On one of her visits to her home she brought back some Indian bananas. I couldn't believe the difference, they were much bigger and a very different texture, they were much firmer, even when fully ripe and a different taste, I struggled to eat a hole banana lol, being used to the bananas we eat, I wasn't over keen on these strange bananas. So different!
It's avocado, fluff.

Put your bananas in a avocado and they ripen much quicker.
One reason I don't buy many fruits. Apples keep for a while so I tend to go for them. But it's a pain when you have to buy unripe, wait for it to ripen, and then find the clock's running before it overripens and turns to mush. Bananas a case in point. Pears tend to be like that also.
Get them from the local market and patronise the small man instead of supermarket giants who are making millions out of you while selling inferior goods.
''im fed up with green bananas''

I'm fed up with Pears like rocks and pale orange tasteless tomatoes.
