A friend is making me a pavlova shell for Xmas day. What should i fill it with? Which type of cream single or double - and anything else?

I use whipped double cream and top with passion fruit.
whipped cream and a mix of raspberries, strawbs, blueberries
I'd go with pear, chocolate and hazelnut or pineapple and passion fruit (choose the wrinkliest you can find).

Berries would be lovely but they are not going to be at their best at this time of year.
And definitely whipped double cream.
Eccles, are they juicier when they are really wrinkled.
Yes Rocky.

I'm trying not to snigger.....it's not working....
Very lightly whipped double cream (over-whipped cream is horrible) with some vanilla and icing sugar through it. Some chopped, shelled pistachios and pomegranate seeds over the top would be lovely or you could make some honeycomb to crumble over the top of the cream and drizzle some melted choc over it.

Now, now! Lol ; )
Voddy, that sounds lovely, almost a Crunchie Pavlova. I'm doing a one for Christmas day and I think this will be it.
Sorry Rocky :-)

Having read Vodka's suggestion I though a variation on this recipe on a pavlova would work really nicely.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/jun/01/stuffed-dates-clementines-pomegranates-recipe
It's lovely Rocky. I made one with leftover honeycomb I had but thinking about it, you could just smash up some Crunchie bars and fling them on top of the cream. X

Eccles, that looks delish! X
