I don't even go through a pint a week, but need it in for tea/coffees but most of it gets thrown away. I was thinking of freezing it in an ice cube tray for when needed?

Yes, you can.
I often freeze the whole container of skimmed milk if there is some left and we are going away, let it defrost in the fridge and it is fine. Never tried it ice cube size but worth a try. Not tried it using anything other than skimmed milk.
Never tried to do that, but often put a plastic bottle in the freezer and it has always been okay.
Semi-skimmed freezes better then full cream for some reason....
you can, its a brilliant idea, i do this when i go away, so when im back i have milk for my coffee.

Oh great! Thanks for the replies.
yes !
why don't you try powdered milk if you only use it for tea and coffee.
Would prefer to freeze, cannot stand that powder or long life milk. Urghhh.
Full cream milk can separate on defrosting. It's looks anot curdled but in fact it is ok.
Goats milk is really the best for freezing, virtually no degradation of quality.
I always freeze semi-skimmed milk.
You can freeze any kind of milk if its in a plastic bottle, but if it's full fat then you need to empty a little out of the bottle before freezing as the cream expands and pushes the lid off. You also need to give the bottle a good shake once it's defrosted.
Yes but it will start to look a little yellow when frozen - don't worry about that it'll be fine when thawed.
Leave some room for expansion if the plastic bottle is full to the rim.
Don't freeze, thaw and then refreeze dairy food.
Well, well, well, I've never heard of anyone freezing milk before.
Does it go off quick when thawed.
Why not just buy a Half-Pint at a time?
Also, can you thaw it in the micro-wave,save you waiting hours for that cuppa.
I buy 4 pinters from Iceland and freeze it in one pint bottles. Never had a problem with it, and I've been doing it for years.
But EverH, always be handy in freezer for emergencies.
Might be handy but I couldn't fancy it.Sorry.
