I'm heading in to town tomorrow and a friend has suggested meeting for lunch......at Nandos.

A part of me thinks What The Funicular I'm not 14yrs old, but having looked at their website it doesn't seem quite as bad as I had imagined. It looks basic but wholesome.

Any personal experiences?

I eat in Nandos fairly often as it is the only chain in my nearest town. I go for the mushroom and halloumi pitta with mango and lime dressing. It tastes good and is not the type of thing I would prepare at home. For a side I usually have sweet potato and minted peas.
son goes there often with uni. crowd, but i think its quite expensive.

Hmmm, I might give it a go. Nothing ventured nothing gained......

Kate, I thought it was attractive to school kids and students because it is cheap.......???
i have never been there but i heard him say it was over a fiver for a veggie burger
As most of their dishes are chicken based I always think of it as a slightly more upmarket KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken).

Mind you a few times I have left their and said to my wife "we just paid £30 for chicken and chips"!
Go for Mango & Lime flavoured chicken, piri piri chips and Macho peas side... Finger-licking-licious!
Definitely not cheap, not mega expensive but basically chicken & chips is over a tenner.

I'm more likely to go down a salad route with a spicy coating on the chicken but thanks fro the tip Gyvybe.
Oops wrong thread
I ate at one once. It was ok. Bit spartan, nothing to write home about, but not awful either. Ok for a quick lunch, less exciting as a social event.
I've been persuaded to go twice - to 2 different branches and I didnt particularly like either.
Eccles - you're a foodie so you probably won't like it. The only people I hear rave about it are people that can't cook.

Ummmm may have a point. I LOVE Nandos.
Nando's are always packed but I can never understand why, I'd rather grab a lunch special in a restaurant, probably cost the same in the long run.
Lol...I did actually think of you when I typed that :-)

Well I'm still a Nando's virgin! I got my Christmas shopping done in record time and came home instead of hanging around in town.

From what some of you have said I haven't missed much!
Hello Eccles! Nope you didnt miss much lol. Did you not see your friend at all then?
I went for the first time prior to going to the cinema last month
I was surprised - I really liked it
I would suggest you are careful - I like a really spicy curry and chose the 'hot' option - that was enough for me so dont be tempted with the 'Very hot'
I had steak BTW as I dont eat chicken

Hi Smow! No I didn't see her but as she works in town it's not a big issue.

Sounds like I had a close shave as having looked at the menu I was going to have the very hot coating! I'm the salad and coleslaw sides would have tempered the heat.......or not!
