I got this in an email. As I have never had to separate egg whites from the yolks I have no idea if it is difficult. But this method looks idiot proof.

Thanks. I'll try to impress mrs factor with that later. Hope I don't end up with egg on my face though
Wow! That is excellent.
我必须尝试它。 (trans. I must try it.)

Providing I have the 'bottle' to have a go.

Very entertaining video. It looks like a trick, but obviously not. Can't wait to try it myself. I can just forsee chaos and mess.
Alas, ummmm, my thread was about separating the yolks from the whites not the whites from the yolks.

Aaw, come on bibble, this question is more deserving of a place in the final exam of a philosophy student!
And what is wrong with cracking the egg in two and dropping the yolk from half to half of the shell until the white splits away, catching the white in a basin or whatever.

Damn sight simpler than this.
Clever people these Chinese.

little metal gadget with two slits in. Messy job, I hate doing it!
Separating an egg white from the yolk is not, I REPEAT NOT, the most difficult of culinary tasks. My late mother had in her kitchen drawer, as I presume most housewives had in the 50s, a simple little piece of plastic, rather like a small saucer, which had a small slit in the bottom running lengthwise, much like a Japanese vagina, into which she would break the egg over a teacup. In due course the albumen would sink in to the said cup, leaving the yolk to be used for other things. This, of course, dates back to the days of rationing, when eggs were a valued product, not things to be thrown willy-nilly at persons of whom one might disapprove.
Mike...I remember the days of Rationing and the the gadget which you have mentioned....you could buy one relatively cheaply...well they were not eggspensive.

Ron.
Nice one Mike however I think I prefer the Japanese Vagina.

WR.
Some folk are now starting to tread on eggs...Talking about vaginas...All of which I thought run lengthwise. :-)

Ron.
Mike & I have heard stories of oriental ones running sideways.
