I cannot drink wine or champagne because it makes me really gassy and gives me the worst hangovers and heartburn so i choose to drink beer.
My friends drink at some top classed establishment and i'm sick to the back teeth of wine drinkers looking over at me drinking a beer and scoffing haughtily down their noses at me, shouldn't they come down off their holier than thou highhorses and remember that their drink of choice is not as much as it's cracked up to be? "Oh we have floral notes with a hint of basil" "Oh we have to drink this wine with that meal to make it complete" What a load of tosh, since when did we HAVE to drink rancid grapes to complete a meal, the meal should be enough without having a poncey wine with "upthereselves" so called wine buffs, Ha, that makes me laugh whenever these so called wine buffs are given a blind test and 98% of time get it wrong and pick the cheapest wine as the best tasting or best quaility.
Am i the only one that feels constantly bullied, shunned and to be made to feel inferior by this snobby species?

Because of what burdock is and its effect on the body as a blood purifier, isn't it haraam?
I think you are reading too much in the responses from the wine drinkers in your story. live and let live.
no idea if its haram or not, i havent drank it in years so it doesnt matter if it is :)
Only if the meat in the pie is pork surely DT?
And, Lidl do nice wines too !

Yes.

Get new friends.
Or is that Aldi ??
I'll drink to that!
ahoy, B00, I'm just about to crack open a bottle of the 1997 reserve Fanta, care to share a glass?
Asda had some bottles of plonk for £2.50 today.... real class I bet.. and I put lemonade in mine so I'm obviously a heathen...
I like beer but would only drink it if the meal was a curry or fish and chips. Otherwise, if I was having a particularly nice meal and didn't want wine I'd drink water..................
I can honestly say that I've never giving a flying fart to what other people think about my wine drinking and care very little for what other people are drinking... unless they're ordering some whacking great cocktail at 5pm on a friday night that takes ten minutes to prepare one glass and the bars knee deep, then I care very much about what other people are drinking. I hate for my friday night wine to be delayed.
I don't think anyone anytime anywhere has ever commented on anything I've been drinking. Meenah must be really unlucky in her choice of drinking establishments.
Will pass on the Fanta jno, I don't like fizzy drinks, sorry :P

Come to think of it, I don't like wine either!
I think the only time I comment is when one of my friends offers to order me something either on fire or luminous blue.... then I have plenty to say on the matter! :c)
oooo no, I like the blue ones, they've usually got Blue Curaçao in 'em, I like that :-)
I am dubious of anything blue... due to once drinking a lot of something blue when I was about 17 and then violently throwing up blue stuff. I have never drunk a blue drink since....Which is suprising as I've been sick after drinking way too much red wine on a few occasions and I still drink that.

I feel I've shared too much with you all... ;o)
blue stuff, red wine and maybe some milk and you could throw up the colours of the Union Jack, CD; very appropriate for the jubilee and all that.
B00, we went to Curacao and to the drinks factory, and we were told that all the curacao drinks taste exactly the same, they just have different colourings for effect. I don't know if this is true or not
